The Imperious Presidency

The White House is joining the ranks of the unapproachable, hindering FRC’s latest protests against Department of Education’s Kevin Jennings.
First, the DOE tried to silence us by blocking emails from our supporters, and now the President, who claimed the average American would have
unprecedented access to the new White House, has halted email traffic to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Unfortunately, FRC has uncovered new
evidence on Jennings that the administration would be foolish to ignore. Our own Peter Sprigg did a sweeping analysis of Jennings’s past writings,
acts, and speeches and found plenty of reason to oppose the new head of the DOE’s Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. In a new document,
“Homosexual Activist Kevin Jennings Not Fit for Department of Education,” Peter outlines that apart from his role as founder of the Gay, Lesbian, and
Straight Education Network (GLSEN), Jennings’s memoir also boasts of smoking the same drugs he was hired to keep out of schools.

In
several passages in his autobiography, Mama’s Boy, Preacher’s Son, Jennings talks about using marijuana while in high school and college. In
the book, he expresses no regret about this behavior or recognition of its risks. Instead, he seems amused. In his words, “[W]atching the planes
take off and land is actually quite fun when you are drunk and stoned.”
