Twitter Enlists Academics To Fight Bias

Perhaps it’s the modern day equivalent of letting the inmates run the asylum. “Accusations of anti-conservative bias continue to swirl around Twitter,” James Rogers reported on the Fox News web site. “Last week the social media giant took heat for “shadow banning” certain prominent Republicans, restricting their visibility in search results.”

“In a blog post Thursday Twitter announced that it is working with experts to measure ‘healthy conversation’ on the platform. A six-strong-group of academics will analyze ‘echo chambers’ that form around political discussions on Twitter and “incivility and intolerance” on the microblogging site.”

And speaking of echo chambers, Rogers shows that half the panel–Rebekah Tromble, Dr. Patricia Rossini and Dr. Jennifer Stromer-Galley of Syracuse University– might be at risk of Trump Anxiety Syndrome if not Trump Derangement Syndrome.
