University of Delaware Reeducation
With precision that would make the KGB jealous, the University of Delaware has been engaged in re-educating students through a campus diversity program that takes indoctrination to a whole new level. According to documentation from FIRE, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, the university has been systematically “reprogramming” the students in its resident halls.
The curriculum subjects about 7,000 students to university-approved notions on race, sexuality, sociology, morality, and environmentalism. Regardless of their personal beliefs, students are forced to participate in sessions whose goal is to hound them into agreement on issues like social oppression. For instance, students are taught that “[a] racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist… The term applies to all white people living in the United States.”
The university also suggests students have one-on-one talks with their RAs, who are ordered to ask “intrusive personal questions such as, ‘When did you discover your sexual identity?'” At certain points in the training, students are told to take actions “that outwardly indicate their agreement with the university’s ideology” such as door decorations, advocating for an “oppressed” social group, and reducing their “ecological footprint.”
Even the administration’s internal documents call the lesson plans “treatment,” as if students are sick patients in need of some therapy, a thesis the psychiatry-wielding KGB would also admire.
The school has indignantly defended the idea, but few are likely to sympathize–least of all parents. Who can blame them? They sent their sons and daughters to be educated, not indoctrinated.
