As Michelle Malkin mentioned earlier this afternoon, a Columbia University alumn sent her a tip that former green jobs czar Van Jones will be speaking at the Columbia’s Business School (CBS) this coming Monday, Feb. 15:
A Columbia U. alum sends along info about a Van Jones performance at the business school next week. If you are a current student or alum and can get to the event, be sure to RSVP and let us know what he’s up to:
The Green Collar Economy: /A discussion with Van Jones, President Obama’s former special advisor on green jobs. Monday, February 15th, 6 – 7pm, Uris 141…
According to Anna Berger, a program & event coordinator at Columbia’s Business School, the event is cosponsored by two student groups, the CBS Green Business Club and CBS Energy Club, as part of their 2010 Clean Tech Month. The event will be closed to the media, said Berger. Another staff member, Sandra Navalli, said that Jones had asked that the event be held off the record with no media and no recordings.
Navalli, the Associate Director of the Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. Center for Leadership and Ethics, said that, as a matter of policy, the school does not provide honorariums. Michelle Malkin linked to the registration survey; it has since been “closed.”
Clearly the student groups—and Jones—don’t want the type of attention on this story that the blogosphere might offer.
